We are led by a team of 5 partners who are seasoned professionals with over 90 years of experience in professional practice. The firm also has a complement of dedicated employees who are committed to providing clients with value-adding services that are synonymous with the Nexia Brand.

Nexia Agbo Abel & Co. with its proven local expertise also has an enviable global reach as it is a member of Nexia International; a worldwide network of independent auditors, business advisers and consultants with offices in over 120 countries.

Nexia Agbo Abel & Co. was established in November 2004 as Agbo Abel & Co.
The founding team was made up of seasoned professionals who had spent
close to two decades with KPMG and Deloitte in various responsible positions.
The firm’s foundation was rooted in the provision of solutions that meets
international standards, adds value to clients business, and is reasonably
priced. In pursuit of this, the firm therefore sought membership of Nexia
International and was subsequently admitted into the network in August 2006
as a Category B member. This was after a successful international quality
review of the firm’s procedures and practice and barely two years after it
commenced business. The firm’s membership was subsequently upgraded to
Category A in June 2013 following another mandatory international firm-wide
quality review. Thereafter the firm changed its name to Nexia Agbo Abel &
Co.

Nexia Agbo Abel & Co. is a member firm of Nexia International.

Nexia International is a leading, global network of independent accounting
and consulting firms. It was founded in 1971 by two firms – Oppenheim Appel
Dixon & Associates, USA and Spicer & Pegler, UK. These two founding
member firms serviced over half the firms in the financial sector in the major
Centres of London and New York. Apart from the global firms, no other
network has this pedigree.
Since 1971, one of Nexia’s greatest strengths has been the willingness of its
independent firms to share their partners’ expertise and knowledge with other
members of the network. On an annual basis, Nexia members have the
chance to exchange ideas at a general meeting, regional meetings as well as
conferences. In particular, Nexia attaches great importance to the education
of its younger members – sponsoring programmes for tomorrow’s leaders and
seminars for managers.

Every client expects high standards from a professional firm. Nexia endorses
the quality of its firms by conducting regular Quality Control Reviews. All its
member firms must belong to their local professional body.

Abel is a finance expert, fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He has over 27 years’ professional practice experience in various capacities of responsibility.  His professional training was with KPMG Nigeria and Akintola Williams Deloitte.  At KPMG, he was Head of Abuja Operations for over 5 years while at Akintola Williams Deloitte he was a Senior Manager till 2004 when he resigned to start Agbo Abel & Co.

Abel Obtained a BSc degree in Accounting in 1986 from the University of Nigeria and also holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the same University. He is a financial management Consultant to the World Bank with vast corporate support, assurance, tax and management consulting experience.

He belongs to the following professional bodies:

  • The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN)
  • Nigerian Institute for Training and Development
  • The Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria, and

When Abel is not talking finance, he would most likely be tending his farm or writing poetry.

Tolulope is a Certified Fraud Examiner, an astute business consultant and a shrewd entrepreneur.  He has extensive experience in business advisory, assurance and corporate support services.  He is the founder of  a successful growing food chain in Nigeria. These experiences enable him  provide deep insights to diverse businesses and organisations and offer support to international businesses. He is a 1996 accounting graduate from Federal Polytechnic, Bida and holds a Masters’ degree in Business Administration obtained from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Tolulope has over 20 years’ professional practice experience in finance, retail, manufacturing, Oil and Gas, government and not-for-profit organizations.

He is a member of the following professional bodies:

Friday is a member of the Institute of chartered Accountant of Nigeria(ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN). He is a tax expert and consummate management consultant. He is a 1987 graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti from where he obtained a Higher national Diploma in Accountancy.

Prior to joining Nexia Agbo Abel & Co, he was with Sulaimon & Co (a member firm of Nexia International) where he rose to the position of a Senior Manager. He has also worked briefly in France for EIF on sorting out the Company’s off-share reconciliation challenges.

Friday has wide range of experience in both private and public sectors of the Nigerian economy. His competencies include audit & assurance, forensics, taxation, and financial management.

Away from tax and finance, Friday is a closet athlete with dexterity in badminton, table tennis and football.

Aliu is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and a versatile Financial Consultant. He leads the firms tax services and brings his remarkable private and public experiences to bear. He is a 1985 graduate of Accountancy from the Federal Polytechnic Auchi and also has a Masters of Business Administration degree from Bayero University Kano.

He received his professional training with KPMG and Akintola Williams Deloitte where he had a rewarding career spanning over 17years. During his time he rose to the position of Senior Manager and was involved with various assignments involving local and international clients.

Aliu also has a rich public sector experience having worked for 8 eight years at the National Health Insurance Scheme initially  as the General Manager for Funds Management and later General Manger for Finance and Accounts.

Mathias T. Sendave holds a degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University and an MBA from Modibbo Adama University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

Mathias has several years of professional experience in internal and external auditing, taxation and financial management having spent over 15 years in KPMG and Deloitte. He has very wide experience in various sectors including manufacturing, banking and finance, education, non-governmental organisations and the public sector.

Prior to joining Nexia Agbo Abel & Co. he worked with American University of Nigeria as Senior Director, Finance and also as an Assistant General Manager and Head of Internal Audit with Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM).
